Hello to all fans of Cabaret Life Drawing at 21C! Wow I miss those sessions! I do hope that Skylar and the folks at 21C Louisville will find a way to start them back up!

I would like to inform you all of the Lexiington Drawing and Painting meetup group  - in case you are ever in the Lexington KY area and wanted to do some figure drawing and sketching. Last year I met architect and product designer Chris Manzo who was involved with a similar meetup group in St Louis prior to relocating to the Bluegrass in 2012. The Lexington KY Comic Creators Group has hosted several Themed Life Drawing Sessions over the last couple of years and I welcomed an accomplice to help promote/organize/host these and similar events. We want the meetup site to work like a clearinghouse of local and maybe even regional art opportunities. So if any of you attend or host art workshops or regular drawing/painting sessions maybe we should talk about sharing schedules?

While Cabaret Life Drawing is on hiatus (and I for one hope this will end soon) you might consider attending the CCG Themed Life Drawing (TLD) events in Lexington (and possibly other locations for future events - contact CCG Coordinator to discuss other venue cities in KY, Southern IN or OH).

We have hosted six TLD events or sessions since January 2011. We most recently hosted a "Brave" inspired drawing session with three models in costume!. See our photo gallery on the CCG Facebook Page.

'BRAVE' THEMED LIFE DRAWING
Saturday June 23rd, 2012

Disney's "Brave" (Scottish Animated Epic) Themed Life Drawing session - $5 for artists. 
Will have at least one model in costume from movie (Medira - young red haired lead character). Get warmed up the Movie Tavern Event (Drink and Draw) later that night. Contact Ccg Coordinator at lexkyccg@gmail.com or call 276-5528 for more info! :-)
Artists can work in pencil, pen, ink, watercolor or even oils. Pose lengths will be 1 min, 5min, 10 min, 20 min, and maybe one or two longer poses as time, energy and heat allow :-)
Looking for extra models - artists come in costume and draw for free! (email to confirm)! 
Friends who can volunteer time as models, hlelpers or bring props are encouraged to do so! Email for more info about what we need....
This should be a lot of fun and really helpful for creating art/illustration based on fantasy characters but having some real world reference!

• a "transportation" (motorcycles, bicycles, riders in gear) TLD and 
• a "Mid Summers Night" (faeries and pre Raphaelite style themes) TLD this summer. 

Seeking models and artists for both of these.
